Responding to Survivors of Sexual Assault
There are many survivors that go through sexual assault without being heard. Many teens fall into a deep depression because of not having anyone to talk to that makes them feel understood. Our youth lack the resources to be able to take care of themselves. Our goal is to fight for our youth to have resources and to be able to face the world head-on.

Partners in Prevention Conference

The Partners in Prevention is the largest annual gathering of prevention and early intervention professionals in Texas. The conference attracts parent educators, youth service providers, civic leaders, policy advocates, researchers and others with a professional interest in child and family well-being, youth development and juvenile justice. This year Partners in Prevention will be held on October 20-222, 2020 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (near Reliant) in Houston. The conference organizers are is currently looking for presentation proposals, which must be submitted by March 25. 


Youth Peer Support Training

Texas System of Care will be offering a youth peer support training in Houston, Texas from March 23-28 in Houston, Texas. 


Youth Peer Support Position

The Harris Center is currently looking to hire a youth peer support specialist to work with their mobile crisis outreach team and FIRST program. 


Mental Health Creative Arts Contest

The deadline for submitting an art pieces for the mental health creative arts contest contest has been extended to March 8. We are extending our art contest an extra week. You now have until March 8, 2020 to submit your original artwork, photography, or writing to our state-wide mental health creative arts contest!


2020 Policy Roundtable

The 2020 Policy Roundtable, held in the late summer, will be a time for diverse stakeholders to come together to discuss issues and challenges related to the provision of services for youth and their families with co-occurring disorders. This effort will result in the development and publication of specific recommendations for action. Focus Groups Around Corpus Christi

Coastal Plains Community Center will be hosting focus groups with youth (ages 12-17) from March 10-12. These focus groups will help to ensure that youth voice is present in deciding what can be done to improve the community for young people. Here are the dates for the focus groups.
